Holiday

The holiday must be getting close, as both W and I are starting to get excited! It's strange, as I don't feel like I'm thinking about the holiday all the time, but I can definitely feel it getting closer, and little things feel better each day - like the drive to work for one.

We decided to buy a new small camera to take with us. We've got the digital slr, which we will take, but it is just a little clumsy when you go out for meals and the like. We've got a really nice canon ixus - pre-digital, which would have been fine before we converted to digital. But to be honest now, it's feels a bit like being a betamax player whenever we use it.

So... We splurged out on one of these...

It was a toss up between the Sony which we got, and the Canon range of super-compacts. The Sony won in the end simply because W found it far more intuitive to use (given the 30 seconds we played with it in the shop).

So far I'm very happy with it, it really does seem easy to use, and the images look very good ... Nothing for the blog yet - let's face it, once they've been reduced to fit here, they all look the same anyway.

Michael has done yet more dry runs on the wood fired oven, it's not proved as easy as originally though - it's not exactly hard, but the kit didn't fit together quite as published, and needed a reasonable amount of tweaking to get it to form a perfect arch.

We're still waiting for the footings to be poured - so possibly we won't be having home cooked pizza's as soon as we return.
