Calcutta Tiljallah Relief Anniversary Dance
A late night bash last night - a charity gig for this cause...
Here's the blurb...
CTR has two major thrusts:
- Providing pensions to seniors
as of 2005, 257 seniors were being given a monthly pension - 155 in Kolkata, 82 in Chennai and 20 in Bangalore.
- Educating children
as of 2005, 123 children were being educated - 36 boarders and 42 day scholars in Kolkata, 15 boarders and 20 day scholars in Chennai and 10 day scholars in Hyderabad.
CTR has branches in:
- Australia - Melbourne, Sydney and Perth
- UK - London and Southampton
- Canada - Toronto
- USA - headquartered in New Jersey
All the branches are run by volunteers who are not paid, either in cash or in kind.
CTR administers its programs through local administrators in:
- Kolkata - CAISS and Loreto, Entally
- Chennai - Anglo-Indian concern, Smile Cares and Teacup Ministry
- Bangalore - Ms Sylvia Bosen
- Hyderabad - Ms Margaret Studden
CTR funds all its programs through these administrators.
CTR also publishes books on Anglo-Indian culture. The gross proceeds of all sales go to the charity. So far, three books have been published and a fourth is in the process of being edited.
