Singapore

So here we are in Singapore - three hours until our flight, so I've talked W into letting me spend 5 mins on the net. We're more tired than you'd expect for 9pm, still we'll be back in the UK soon.

Getting close

The holiday to the UK is getting closer and closer. Yet here I am on a Saturday stuck at work again. Plus I'm working on Sunday. Oh well working regular 13 days in a row is now standard in our department.

Still - I don't care - holiday soon!

Henna

W went down to Fremantle last night after work to have har arms Henna'ed for a bollywood charity bash we're going to this weekend. They look really great - currently still light, as the henna darkens over the 1st 3 days. A plug for Kelly @ 'henna moon' in Freo www.hennamoon.com.au (link doesn't currently appear to be working!).

She drove to Freo, I caught the train - a trip of nearly two hours from my work. The plan was to have a meal there, however by the time she'd finished it was 9pm, so we got take-home instead.

Here's the site for the wood fired pizza - now a nicely concreted base...

At work we've got a stack of new expensive hardware going in. Basically this...

is replacing this...

And at last the Ikea CD tower has arrived, here you can see the 2nd of three going in...

Neat video...

OK - I'm getting lazy in my posts...

D's birthday party

Whilst R & M were at Menopause we went with the usual bunch to a Chinese in Leeming, to celebrate D's birthday... I was amazed at how old - and tall D is now. She's taller than her mum, man they sure shoot up (in a non-druggy way :-)

Holiday

The holiday must be getting close, as both W and I are starting to get excited! It's strange, as I don't feel like I'm thinking about the holiday all the time, but I can definitely feel it getting closer, and little things feel better each day - like the drive to work for one.

We decided to buy a new small camera to take with us. We've got the digital slr, which we will take, but it is just a little clumsy when you go out for meals and the like. We've got a really nice canon ixus - pre-digital, which would have been fine before we converted to digital. But to be honest now, it's feels a bit like being a betamax player whenever we use it.

So... We splurged out on one of these...

Read a review here

It was a toss up between the Sony which we got, and the Canon range of super-compacts. The Sony won in the end simply because W found it far more intuitive to use (given the 30 seconds we played with it in the shop).

So far I'm very happy with it, it really does seem easy to use, and the images look very good ... Nothing for the blog yet - let's face it, once they've been reduced to fit here, they all look the same anyway.

Michael has done yet more dry runs on the wood fired oven, it's not proved as easy as originally though - it's not exactly hard, but the kit didn't fit together quite as published, and needed a reasonable amount of tweaking to get it to form a perfect arch.

We're still waiting for the footings to be poured - so possibly we won't be having home cooked pizza's as soon as we return.

It's cold in here

Today we take a quick look at our fridge - or at least the doors.

W wanted to be sure we kept the fridge clear of clutter when we moved to the new house - that proposal isn't holding too well...

So what have we got...

Pizza magnet - won't be needed once we get the oven built.

A Griffiths coat of arms (cheap plastic magnet from the UK)

My work phone list - just incase I get called

Recycling calender from Council, held on with photo of D.

All the blue magnets (lots of them) are from the vet - this represents how much money we spend with them.

Card from friends in Paris (not from Paris)- and video magnets.

Very old $10 off voucher for car service

A really cute poseable magnetic cat.

Bunch of photos - Harley, W, Harley, D Tip-Pass (top right), couple of magnets from cinema in UK

Estate residents assoc. joining sheet (way overdue)

A recipe

Some dance thing we're going to next weekend.

Card from Belly Dancing friend of W's (hot!)

Advantage (pet tablets) - to remind us to use them.

Hope you feal better for that.
