Buffied out

Nothing is happening, at least not much in our lives at the moment. Unless of course you count Buffy, which has been our staple TV diet for the last Month or so. And when I say 'diet' I really to mean that we've been watching it to the exclusion of virtually anything else. Except for a few episodes of Angel which we've thrown in.

OK so becoming Buffy fans may come across as a little nerdy, doing nothing for our already nerdy persona. However it wasn't something we thought we'd enjoy, some friends recommended it to us - saying how well the series and characters develop. They we're right, the story lines would be very repetative if it wasn't for the underlying characters. Still I'd better not go on about it too much, if you've not been Buffed yourself, my praise will probably just dig us in deaper.

So what else are we up to... W's had her 1st piano lesson yesterday. She's been practicing for a few weeks, but was told -start again- as she's not doing it in the prescribed way. Personally I think it would have been better if she was just told to keep playing (that's play playing, not musical playing), rather than having to start from scratch.

Myself, I'm still trying to learn guitar. Their's several guitar techniques. Strumming, finger picking, pick-picking (hope you can follow these technical terms). Unfortunately, with my finger roll shaped fingers (short, stubby, and often coated in chocolate) I've come to the conclusion that strummings not an option. I simply can't limit myself to a single string. It's actually lucky I can mash my way through this keyboard.

So it's pick-picking for me, complete with my set of six garfield picks (except for the ones Bingleys chewed). I've just moved onto lesson 4 in my teach yourself book, and with it onto the fourth string. I'm trying to sight read, so everything is very slow, and I usually take about 10 days until I discover I'm playing the wrong note. - Like W, no one will be asking me to perform for them soon.

W's belly dance group are performing again this Weekend.
