Introducing a great can opener

Introducing a great can opener

OK, a can opener may be something most people wouldn't get too excited about. But for this one I make an exception...
A few weeks ago, our old trusty can opener died (fell apart) - it was one of those which slice off the top of the can, rather than cutting a circle into the lid. It worked well, and we were sad to see it go.
This replacement caught my eye, because it stated - no sharp edges. Something I took with a grain of salt, since slicing off the top was sure to leave a sharp can below.
But having got it home and tried it, I'm really amazed - it manages to get the 'lid' component, seperated from the sides of the can. It does it in such a way that the lid can be pushed back onto the can, and their really arn't any sharp edges.
Basically it cuts very accurately halfway through the crimped edge of the lid, so the crimped hold on the sides is lost. Thus a simple push up, removes the lid from the can. The lid is still whole, and so can be pushed back onto the can, giving an impression that it's still sealed.
WTW: W says I get my excitement at these sort of things from my Dad - so don't blame me!
