Build a LOR in under 5 mins.

Warning - the video is rather boring if you're not thinking about getting a LOR unit.

If you can work really fast, then it's possible to build and test a LOR unit from kit form in under 5 minutes.
Here's a video showing you how:

(OK fast forward did help a little!)

Bingley OK

A week since Bings op on his shoulder - he's fine, a row of stitches about 2 inches long above his left shoulder, but they don't appear to bother him one bit. We get the results in about 10 days, but it's unlikely to be anything bad.

We're trying to think of something to do tomorrow for my short weekend (once again). I'm going to take a few days off in a couple of weeks, and am really looking forward to that.

It's turned cold, but we've still not got around to putting the heating on yet. We tend to have huge power/gas bills (bu Aus standards), so I'm trying to cut back a bit.

Yearly bonus time is due again, but with the way the company shares have been going, things don't appear too promising.

Had the new camera (love it) at work this week, taking photos of all the guys in the dept. for our new intranet. Also M (from M & D) asked if I'd be willing to do another wedding shoot in Feb. for a relative. I'm more than happy 2 as it gives me something to use the camera for.

R & M are re-decorating (yet again), having just given away all their furniture and bought new. I suspect M may be a little bored :-)

Gotta go, I've got an 'innovations' mag to read.

Bingley to the vet

We took Bingley to the vet for a checkup on Monday - his teeth need cleaning (not a suprise), but also he's got to have a tiny lump removed from his left shoulder. He's had it for ages, but we thought we should mention it, and the vet thought that although unlikely, it could be cancerous. So it's got to come off.

At the same time the vets will be performing a walletectomy on back pocket.

He's in for the operation on Monday. We've not told him yet, as a we don't want to frighten him. As it happens we've both got the day off (I'm working Sunday), so we can really spoil him when he comes out.

New Camera

We went out on Saturday to try an new 'ribs' restaurant a lot of people have been raving about - only to find they don't open on Saturdays!!! This is why Perth has so much press about being a boring city. How can so many of the restaurants and shops in the city center justify closing on weekends. No wonder the city is so empty.

Anyway, partially to cheer myself up (I was really looking forward to some ribs), and partially because I've been thinking about it for ages - I bought a new Camera. It's a Canon EOS 40D. My old Canon was having a few problem (flash doesn't raise, button sometimes sticks) plus it's now getting quite old. The old EOS 350D is considered an entry level amateur camera (or it was, they don't make that model now). The new 40D is considered an entry level professional camera. The difference really shows, it feels really solidly built, and is SOooo fast. I also wanted to get it before we have our main holiday this year (time and destination now yet available) - so I can take lots of pictures.
