Back from Lochada

We're back from 4 days in Lochada with the Subaru club - had a really great time. Lots of flies, midges (bit to death) and this little fellow. He's a Race Horse Goanna, he was just under a meter long and a real surprise to see in such an isolated, inhospitable place.

Spider

Found this spider wondering around outside the house last night. I've never seen one like this before, very strange - it's body is about the size of a small mouse, and quite bulky. Also it walked (ran) with it's body quite high in the air. It was very dark outside, so we have to follow it with a torch. - Eugh!

Chooks

Did I mention that we lost (died) one of our chooks a couple of months ago. The other two are going well. We found a dozen or so eggs hidden in one of the bushes the other weekend. We'd assumed they were off the lay.

Unfortunately, since then we've not had a single egg.

R & M recently changes their furnature - selling this older dark wood 'stuff' for some much lighter (and nicer) units. - Good move!

Now they are just waiting for a new 3 piece suite to be delivered.

Dam I'm slack at posting

We're off to a posh restaurant on Friday with G&G (originally from Derby). The 'amuse' restaurant is near their home, and is similar to the Loose-Box restaurant which we quite like.

We don't get to see G&G that often, so it will be great to catch up, especially because G is pregnant - their first. Not having seen her for 3 months, it will be interesting to see how big she's getting. - it's a boy by the way, and it's middle name is probably R. (unfortunately not from me, but from his granddad).

We're off camping at Lochada again on the 27th (long weekend here). That's the place we first went to with the club - and we really loved it. We're just hoping the good weather we've currently got holds, and it's not too muddy (it was flooded a couple of weeks ago).

I've been working flat out on a reformat of one of our papers (The Tabform) a betting paper for all the 'punters'. It's really just tables of stats and prices - very boring to work on.

I've just got a new PC at work. Quite a significant thing when 99% of my work is done through it. I've spent the last 3 days re-installing all the software I use, and trying to get it setup how I like it. I work with dual monitors, one rotated 90degrees to make working on pages better. I use the 2nd monitor as a holding area when I get sidetracked.

Got to go, management meeting time...
