Whats happening

Been really slack with the blog - enough said...

So what have we been up to?

- W's learning Japanese - no particular reason, she just likes to keep her mind active, and fancies a challenge. So she's on a course one night a week, plus lots of books, films, podcasts etc. etc.
- I've been on a Photoshop course - I took the beginners course, even though I feel reasonable proficient. I'm really glad I did, as I've learned heaps! Course ends next week, then I have to decide if I go on to advanced. The idea is that it will motivate me to do more photography, and sort out some of the photos I've taken. That's not actually happened yet.
- W has taken an astronomy - she's joined a club, and is going on a course. For her b'day I bought her a cheap telescope on ebay, new - but very cheap. We went out with her club at the weekend for it's first try out. It works surprisingly well, great image of the moon, and Saturn's rings. We do need to get a better view finder for it, and possibly a better eye piece (expensive). The night was actually more enjoyable than I'd expected.
- Bingley has had a shearing - the only long hair left is on his tail and ears. He looks even more like a puppy now. Personally I prefer him with long hair, although he is a lot more work (all the brushing) and is forever getting bits of twigs etc. stuck in his fur. Everyone else just appreciates not having so much fur all over the house.
- I've been busy soldering up the four new light-o-rama units I bought. Last time I bought them ready made, so I was very pleased that they all worked (more or less) first time. Next I've got to mount them in something, and start working on the new lights.
- We've been out for a few meals with family over here, as usual trying different Chinese. Man the kids have grown up - H'mny & G'g aren't children anymore! H just bought her first new car!
- We're planing to take some time off in June, and so are busy booking places to go etc. More on that as we get things sorted.
- We had a weekend away, driving to Kalgoorlie - I suspect I've already blogged that one.
- R&M are off on their first real trip away in their caravan over Easter. They've been on a couple of weekends away, but this is for a couple of weeks. It's going to be strange (and nice) having the house totally to ourselves. Bingley won't be too happy being on his own all day.
- We've not been on any exciting 4wd trips for a while. Unfortunately they best one coincides with R&M being away (someone needs to stay and mind the chucks). It's a real shame (for us) as this is the trip we'd really been looking forward to. Still we can't complain too much, as they'll be chook sitting when we go away in June.
- Since I mentioned the chooks - they're off the lay. So we're back to buying eggs again. However we do have apples and peaches coming out of our ears.
- The oven just stopped working !
