What a pong

M was rather upset at a terrible smell coming from her carpet this morning. It appears that Bingley had found an egg in the garden (one of the problems with occasionally letting the Nandos triplets out for the day). He's bought the get in, on to M's carpet, and broken / eaten it.

The problem being that the egg was way past it's use-by date, and so was rather smelly. This apparently didn't put Bingley off, so he's possibly going to be suffering later today. The egg he left (not much), stunk the place out.

Here's a neat egg pic that tickled my fancy (stolen from this promising blog).

Harley Update

Poor girl - having been slimmed right down by the vet on Friday (draining her kidneys) - they have swollen straight back up again. The vet had warned that this was a possibility, but it was still a shock after only a couple of days.

What next, if anything? we're not sure. We'll be seeing the vet again later in the week.

Harley

Friday - Harley to vet, expecting one of her kidneys to be removed. Vet drained 325ml of fluid from it - she's looking a lot better. We know she's still not got long left. She got Polycystic Kidney Disease which currently isn't curable.

Since coming home she appears a lot happier, and is certainly a lot thinner.

Saturday - Up early, Gardning, Take a trailer load of garden clippings to tip, Swim in pool, quick dip for Bingley, Mid day nap, Huge food shopping trip, Late lunch, Bunnings (hardware) for some bits and bobs, another tablet for Harley (theirs a challenge). It's now 6pm

Book club

Tuesday night - book club, and this month it was at our house.

Thanks to W and R for helping get the place tidy, and supplying us with lots of tasty treats.

Being at my house - it was my choice of books - and I went for...

The Time Travellers Wife we'll see next month if anyone liked it.

It all went really well, making their own pizza's - and once again they were probably the best so far.

W went off to Sydney for training on Monday - I followed on the Tuesday night 'midnight horror' flight.

We had a great time in Sydney - despite the freezing cold rainy weather (it did pick up). Poor W had to attend a course during the day - whilst I did lots of sight seeing.

We went to a couple of shows at the Opera house - and ate out a LOT.

We even made a trip to a belly dance shop on Saturday, and then on to buy a few xmas presents.

Christmas soon - blimey!

M update

The wonders of modern surgery - M was back home by early evening, and within 24 hours he's able to do 'normal' activities once again.

W and I are off to Sydney next week - for W, she's one a course Tue-Fri - for me it's just a holiday. She flies out early Monday morning, and I leave on Tuesday night (arriving early Wed) - unfortunately their is a course I couldn't get out of on Mon & Tue. We both come home on Sunday

We're staying in a swanky hotel, overlooking the Sydney Opera House. Poor W is going to miss out on all the places I see during the week. But in the evenings she says I can be her 'hire a stud'.

M's back in hospital

I dropped M(&R) off at the hospital this morning, as they have decided they need to re-do R's stent (or whatever the exact procedure is called).
It's being done as day-surgery, and appears to be almost considered routine - so we don't expect any problems.

Cathaven site updated

Several years ago I created a web site for the local cat protection society (The CatHaven).

The site design has pretty much remained unchanged since then.

The only problem was, that its menu only worked for users of Internet Explore. So lots of people using other browsers probably didn't realise that their should be a menu on the left hand side. And they will have missed most of the sites content. That wasn't so much of a problem back then - as most people used ie.

Anyway, this weekend, at long last I got around to fixing the site, so now at least the menu works for everyone.

I've also turned back on the animation for the menu (the menu lines drop down from the top when the page is first entered). This was turned off, because back then a lot of people had PC's so slow that the animations got in the way.

OK the site isn't up to site's I currently work on (like www.thewest.com.au , and our activepaper products )

- but it does have a bit of a retro feal.

Wow it's big. Pictures great - and it's big!

Did I mention it's big.

OK, not as big as some - but anything bigger is just showing off.
